Health Tip: Pets and Severe Weather

(HealthDay News) — Keeping your furry friends in mind when severe weather strikes should be a key part of your family’s safety plan, says the U.S. National Weather Service.

Pet owners should be sure to:

  1. Bring pets indoors during storms.

  2. Never leave pets alone in the car — in hot or cold weather.

  3. Confine pets to one room in case of flooding or wildfire.

  4. Make plans to care for pets in the event you must evacuate.
