Health Tip: Recognizing a Yeast Infection

(HealthDay News) — A vaginal yeast infection is a fungal problem that causes irritation, discharge and itchiness, says Mayo Clinic.

About 75 percent of women experience a yeast infection at some point, the clinic says.

Common signs of a yeast infection include:

  1. Itching, irritation, pain and soreness.

  2. A burning sensation during intercourse or urination.

  3. Thick, white, odor-free discharge or watery discharge.

  4. Redness and swelling.

If you have a yeast infection, see a doctor.
