(HealthDay News) — A tetanus vaccine is important for people of all ages, says the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Though rare, people who get the disease can face serious, and possibly deadly, complications.
Tetanus-causing bacteria can be found in dirt, dust and feces. The bacteria often enter the body through broken skin. There is no cure for tetanus, so getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, the agency says.
